Today I have been researching online in order to find some inspiration for some possible design styles for my project as well as some new ideas which could effect my view on the project in general.
With it being such a iconic symbol for when it comes to conspiracy nowadays, I have first decided to look for art of the the “All Seeing Eye”, a symbol modernly associated with the Illuminati (despite their actual insignia being the “All Knowing Owl”). It is a well recognized symbol across the world which represents both mystery and knowledge, although, when related to the Illuminati, it becomes seen as a watchful and dangerous threat hidden within every dark shadow.
The two images shown belong to a pair of online artists (with links to their respective pages) who have taken two very different takes of the design of the Eye. I have chosen to analyse these two artists due to their different style of viewpoints of the concept of the Eyes.

The first artist has used a very bleak and somewhat depressing design for their interpretation of the Eye, with an obvious relation to the symbols use within the Illuminati. The uses of grey grays and blacks give the piece a very urban setting despite the lack of setting and the use of arms could be seen in two different ways from my standing. The first possible representation could that the arms show how the people are being oppressed by the power of the higher organisations such as the Illuminati, with the people (branded with their sign) sinking into the darkness. The other representation could be that the arms show us as the population, with the one branded hand signifying how there is always some of these organisations hidden among the masses.
I really enjoy the use of pastel-like grays and symbolism used within this piece about the dangers of theories. I may use this as reminder during my work that a little bit (or a lot) of symbolism within the final pieces may make them seem more effective.

The second image takes a very different approach to the use of the, instead seemingly opting to focus more on the true representation of the symbol as its meaning, rather than the organisation attached by theorists. This artists has used incredibly vibrant colors and strokes to give illustrate the symbol’s much more mystical and mysterious origins. The use of colors even gives the design a somewhat hypnotic appearance and, depending on how you interpret it, it can be seen in a more positive way than the previous piece, which leans somewhat into the idea of slavery to the Illuminati.
I love the amazing use of colors used within this piece, as they serve as both a good representation of the mystery to which the symbol stands for, as well as an effective eye-catcher for what could be an excellent front page (something that I will keep to mind later)
While searching for a final image to use within this post, I discovered the following book-cover among the results:
“The United States of Paranoia: A Conspiracy Theory – Jesse Walker” (shown above with the author himself) is a book based around the constant streams of conspiracy theories circulating around within the USA, ranging from the colonial era to the War on Terror. The book-cover stood out to me as it is an excellent example of how type can be used to represent an entire theme just by its lonesome, as the wall of text used for the cover is reminiscent to that of the governmental documents which appear in many classic conspiracy stories. The bright highlighter colors also serve as decent eye-catchers that allow the title and author’s name to be be sported without trouble.
